Axiom Addicts Bio

Axiom Addicts were founded in 2002 by songwriters Rina and Stephen Kleege. Performing initially as a duo, Axiom Addicts focus on melody and lyrics, bringing "music you can hear" to such New York venues as the Knitting Factory, Kenny's Castaways, Bar-B, the C-Note and CBGB's. Since 2006, Axiom Addicts have been performing as a full rock band:

•Rina Kleege (vocals/guitar) previously played with the Shuffle, Dr. Joy and the Operators, Freddie and the Drumsticks, Witchtree, and Ice 9.

•Stephen Kleege (keyboard/vocals) has played with Insignificant Others, Big Jive (with Ellen Foley), and the house band at the Millhouse, Waitsfield, Vt., backing such artists as Jon Hendricks and Bobby McFerrin.

•Lead guitarist Jesse Miller picked up a guitar in high school and has yet to put it down. He currently teaches guitar full time at James Madison High School in Brooklyn. In addition to the Axioms, he is a member of the Brooklyn Guitar Quartet and the acoustic duo Whiskey and Weed.

•Bassist Adam Armstrong has played with a host of national and local  rock n' roll, swing, progressive rock, jazz, and country artists.

AXIOM ADDICTS

•Drummer Hollis Headrick has performed with a wide range of jazz and rock groups in New York, Boston, and Europe, including composers Anthony Braxton and Walter Thompson. Venues include the Knitting Factory, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center, Roulette and The Kitchen. He has numerous recording and producing credits and is a member of the Recording Academy, which supports contemporary music and produces the annual Grammy Awards.
